Research

Since receiving my MA from London in 2002, I have published extensively in university journals in Japan. My current research project is entitled, "Evaluating direct oral translation relative to other techniques commonly applied to the teaching of vocabulary" and will be submitted to The Modern Language Journal for publication in 2008.

Aside from vocabulary acquisition, I am continuously conducting classroom-based research into effective teaching methodology. My specialist field in this regard is the teaching of English composition to Japanese university students. I have recently completed the manuscript for an academic writing coursebook, and hope to have it published in the near future.
