International

Fukuoka is popularly known as “the gateway to Asia” and, since its foundation in 1992, Fukuoka Prefectural
University has reached out to other universities around the world and embraced a range of international exchange
initiatives. Our activities in this regard have included the exchange of academic personnel, student exchange
programmes and symposiums in cooperation with the universities listed below.

At Fukuoka Prefectural University, we encourage our students to be active participants in the international
community. We therefore offer a variety of intercultural experiences such as homestays and short-term language
programmes in foreign countries, as well as on-campus interaction with foreign exchange students at FPU.
