Undergraduate
- Women's health nursing T: This course focuses on contemporary thought on women's health , family planning and childbearing. Students gain an understanding of women's health issues and the confidence to advise on general modes of contraception.
- Women's health nursing U: This course introduces students to the latest theories and methods in women's health nursing.
- Clinical@practicum in women's health nursing: This course develops the students' knowledge to specialist level in terms of maternity nursing and child health practice and clinical skills.
- International@nursing: Students study health problems and nursing in different parts of the world and acquire the fundamental understanding in order to provide nursing care in different cultural contexts.
- Seminar in a specialist nursing field: In the 4th-year, students select a specialist nursing field in order to study it at a deeper level. The results of the seminar contribute to the graduation thesis.
- Graduation thesis: In the 4th-year, students conduct a piece of original research and write a graduation thesis.
- Diagnosis and skills in midwifery: In the 4th-year, students@may choose a midwifery course and study methods of assessment regarding the best type of delivery according to the situation. They also acquire the midwifery skills necessary to support women from the time of their pregnancy to the postnatal period.
- Clinical practicum in midwifery: This course allows students to develop specialist areas of expertise by integrating their academic and clinical learning in the field of midwifery.
- Theory of midwifery practice: Postgraduate students@explore theoretical thinking and abstract frameworks concerning midwifery.
- Midwifery practice seminar: Through a review of the literature, postgraduate students evaluate current midwifery practice in light of research evidence.
- Master's thesis: In the 2nd-year, postgraduate students conduct an original piece of research focusing on midwifery topics. They also complete a master's thesis.

- A birth choice decision-aid program for women considering cesarean section:
I have been developing a decision-aid program to assist Japanese women in their choice as to whether to have a cesarean section. In future, I would like to build a support system for women incorporating the decision-aid program.

Symposium for birth choice and cesarean section: In June 2008, I chaired a symposium on birth choice and cesarean section. In attendance were citizens, medical staff and an invited foreign researcher. This symposium gave us an opportunity to think about the importance of decision-aids.
