- Human Ecology is science related to the ecology of human populations It is of particular relevance to the variety of contemporary populations living in Asia and Oceania. http://www.humeco.m.u-tokyo.ac.jp/index-e.html
I am interested in all food-related environmental issues and particularly the effects of modernization. The food-related environment has an impact upon diet, subsistence levels and even, via their food distribution structures, entire social systems. These environmental changes and the health and nutritional status of people in the Asia/Oceania region (such as Papua New Guinea, Lao P.D.R., Korea, China, Taiwan and Japan) are currently under investigation.
