Kuniyoshi SAKURAI (associate professor)

BA in Education (Hokkaido Education University, 1988);

MA in Education (Art Joetsu Education University, 1995).

Kuniyoshi Sakurai was born in Hokkaido in 1964. In 1995 he moved to Aichi to work at Nagoya Jyugakuin junior college. Since 1998 he has been working at Fukuoka Prefectural University, and is now an associate professor in the Department of Human Development and Education.

Courses
1. Plastic arts I: The concept of this class for freshmen is to allow students to experience materials through simple experiments with plastic.
2. Plastic arts II: This is a class for second-year students and focuses on techniques for artistic expression.
3. Child expression I and II: This course examines the phenomenon of children expressing themselves through their actions.
4. Seminar on childcare: This seminar is group-orientated and requires students to examine teaching methodologies for children.
5. Graduation thesis: In their fourth year, students are required to conduct original research as the basis for their graduation thesis.
Academic Interests
1. Drawing: Kuniyoshi Sakurai works with oil on canvas and has exhibited his work in Dokuritsu (the exhibition invites contributions from all over Japan) and Fukuoka Dokuritsu (group exhibition).
