1. Introduction to Human Rights: This course for first-year students provides an outline of fundamental human rights, and focuses on minority groups (e.g. Buraku, Koreans in Japan, the Ainu people) in modern Japan.
2. Sociology in Education: This course examines how sociological analysis can be applied to the study of education and the community. More specifically, it compares community systems and school systems.
| 3. Special Lecture I on Social Education: This course applies different perspectives (from, for example, minority groups in Japan) in order to rethink education in our own culture. This approach is used to consider issues such as minority education. |
| 4. Sociological Studies on Nurturing Education: This post-graduate course focuses on life-long learning in consumer- and information-oriented societies, and discusses social theory relevant to the development of such societies. More specifically, students examine how individuals assimilate themselves into the community, and how demand within the community affects education. |
