| Eiji KAMIYA (associate professor) |
| BA in Philosophy (The University of Tokyo, 1990); MA in Philosphy (The University of Tokyo, 1992); PhD in Philosphy (The University of Tokyo, 1998). Eiji Kamiya was born in Tokoname, Aichi prefecture in 1964. After graduating with a doctorate in philosophy from The University of Tokyo, he started working as an instructor at Fukuoka Prefectural University in 1998. He is now an associate professor in the Department of General Studies. |

| 1. Philosophy I: This class introduces first-year students to philosophical and ethical theories based on social philosophy, for example Liberalism, Communitarianism, Utilitarianism and Theory of Justice.

| 2. Philosophy II: This is a class for first-year students and focuses on applied ethics, including Bioethics, Environmental Ethics and Information Ethics.
|
| 3. Logic: This class teaches second-year students about practical, logical skills. To this end, the class applies practical training and requires the students to solve a variety of problems.

| 4. Ethics: This is a Bioethics class for second and third-year students focusing on such issues as informed consent, abortion and euthanasia.

1. The theory of community, based on Phenomenology and Hermeneutics.
2. Transcendental phenomenological studies on the relationship between body and nature.
3. The philosophical theory of memory, focusing on the work of Edmund Husserl, Michel Henry, Henri Bergson and Walter Benjamin.
