Yasuko HIRABE (associate professor)

BA in law (Kyushu University, 1992);

MA in law (Kyushu University, 1996).

After completing her undergraduate studies, Yasuko Hirabe worked in the public sector caring for elderly people for two years. In 1994 she returned to Kyushu University to study social security law, and joined the staff at FPU in 1999. From 2000 to 2001, she went to the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies at the University of London to conduct comparative research on community care systems.

1. Benefits and burdens pertaining to children in social security and labor law: a comparative study of the Japanese, British and French systems 
2. Formulating regulations in order to promote participation in long-term care insurance and greater coordination between providers and users 
Other Information
Working within Fukuoka's local government, Yasuko Hirabe is the vice-chairperson of a review panel on long-term care insurance in the prefecture.
